Are you new to landscaping?

If you have recently moved into a place and want to do some landscaping, you may want to hire some professionals. When you hire the professionals, they will know what will work best in your soil. Some soils do not mix with certain trees and shrubs. They also will know how to go about the landscaping process. The process of making your yard beautiful is to first test the soil, make a plan, research some plants that is of interest, and then learning how to plant and care for each individual plant.

The first step is testing the soil. It is very important for all landscapers and gardeners to know how to test the soil. These tests will tell you the acidity and fertility of the soil. When it comes to the soil tests, you will find the alkaline and acidity or pH. Some times it is the test results that can be hard to follow. You will find that pH ranges from 1.0 to 14.0 Obviously, a 7.0 is being neutral. If you have a reading above 7.0 you have alkaline soil and for those who are below 7.0 are acidic.

After you test the soil, you should then begin to research what types of plants that you want. You should test every area that you plant just in case there is a difference in soil pH. Then you need to compare what pH that you have and what the plants need. You can always alter your pH, but it does take a little bit more work than having a good solid pH level. Once you have matched pH levels you can then begin to plot your garden in the right places so that you are guaranteed a beautiful yard.

You may want a professional to test your soil, because it can get tricky. You can purchase a home test kit or you can have a professional test your soil. All you have to do is place a small a lot of soil in a test tube and then add a chemical. When a professional does the testing, they place a meter in the ground and the results are easy as 1-2-3. Since it's so easy to get a professional to test you can always ask a greenery or landscaper to stop by and check out the levels. While they are there you should ask about any tips that they may have when it comes to plotting and planning your garden.
